Dead remote or failed receiver?

Start with a new battery, then repeat the pairing steps. If the fan still ignores every button, the RH786R receiver in the canopy may be the problem, and a new remote will not fix it. Contact us and we can help you narrow it down.

Why the fan spins both ways during setup

After you press Set, the fan runs in one direction and then the other for about 5 minutes. That is normal: the receiver is finishing its setup with the DC motor. Leave the remote alone until the fan stops on its own, then test each button.

If your fan has both an up light and a down light, this remote runs the speeds and the down light only.
Made for DC motor fans with the RH786R receiver, not AC fans.

Setup & Pairing

Switch the fan's power off at the wall or breaker, then switch it back on.
Press Set on the 5VMR72BSD remote within 60 seconds of turning the power back on.
