About the Monte Carlo 3ARR68BS Remote

The 3ARR68BS is a Monte Carlo Arcade, a 68-inch DC-motor fan. Its motor takes commands from the RH786R receiver in the canopy, and this remote speaks that receiver's language. If the original handheld is lost, broken or worn out, this one restores all six speeds, reverse and the light.

Check the label on the motor housing or in your manual: if it reads 3ARR68BS, this remote is made for your fan. There are no DIP switches to match; the receiver learns the remote after a quick power cycle. Inside the battery door, a small switch picks dimming for incandescent bulbs or on/off for LEDs.

Leave the wall switch on

A fan with a remote needs power at the wall switch so its receiver can listen. If someone flips the switch off, the remote seems dead. A switch guard or a small label on the switch plate saves confusion.

Keep the remote cool and dry

Kitchens and bathrooms are hard on electronics. Keep the remote out of direct sun and away from the stove, and wipe it with a dry cloth rather than spraying cleaner on it. Moisture inside the case can cause missed button presses.

Before you order

If your fan has both an up light and a down light, this remote runs the speeds and the down light only.
The battery is not included.

Setup & Pairing

Turn power to the fan off at the wall switch or breaker, then turn it back on.
Within 60 seconds of restoring power, press the Set button on the 3ARR68BS remote.
Let the fan run in both directions for about 5 minutes. When it stops on its own, pairing is complete.
Pick dim or on/off with the switch under the battery cover to suit your bulbs.
Put up the wall bracket so the remote always has a home.

Tip: pair with only this fan powered, so a nearby fan does not learn the code.
