The YG656-WH is a Hansfield DC ceiling fan from Home Decorators Collection, and it depends on its handheld remote for almost everything. This replacement handles speed, reverse, the light and dimmer, the timer and breeze modes in one unit.

Keep the wall switch on

A remote-controlled fan needs constant power at the receiver. If someone flips the wall switch off, the remote has nothing to talk to and seems dead. Leave that switch on and let the handset do the work. A small switch guard or a note on the plate stops guests from turning it off.

High ceilings and big rooms

Large living rooms and vaulted ceilings benefit most from fine speed control. Use the upper speeds in summer to reach the far corners, and the lowest speeds in reverse during winter to mix the warm air that collects up high. The remote's range easily covers a large room.

Before you order

AC fans and 6-speed DC fans need a different remote.
The RH787T is a different 6-speed remote, and this one does not replace it.

Setup & Pairing

Load the remote with two AAA batteries and set the cover aside.
Check the slide switch next to the batteries and set it to 1.
Shut off the fan circuit at the switch or breaker, pause briefly, and bring the power back.
Right away, while the 30-second window is open, press Learn and let go.
The fan answers by flashing its light and starting the blades. If it stays still, try the sequence once more.

Tip: if the wall switch only controls a light, use the breaker instead. Tip: stand where you can see the fan before restoring power.

In the box: YG656-WH replacement remote, wall mount holder with screws. Batteries are not included.
