Why the blades move during pairing

When pairing succeeds, the fan light flashes and the blades start turning. That is the receiver confirming it has stored the new code. Once you see it, test a few buttons such as light, speed and reverse, then snap the battery cover back on.

Setup & Pairing

Setup takes about a minute and needs no tools.

Load the remote with two AAA batteries and set the cover aside.
Set the compartment's slide switch to position 1.
Power-cycle the fan: off at the wall switch or breaker, then on again.
Before 30 seconds pass, give the Learn button in the compartment one press.
A flashing light and moving blades confirm the pairing. If you see neither, run the steps again.

Tip: leave the wall switch on after pairing so the receiver keeps power.
