About the Casablanca C31U45B Receiver

The Casablanca C31U45B is built around a DC motor and a remote-controlled receiver. If the fan no longer responds, starts and stops on its own, or will not dim the light, a new receiver is often the fix. This one pairs with your RH787T.

Check the label on the fan's motor housing: C31U45B means you are in the right place. It installs in the canopy and learns your RH787T remote after a power cycle.

Why the fan runs both ways after Set

Do not worry when the fan spins one way and then the other after you press Set. That run of about 5 minutes is the receiver finishing its setup with the DC motor. Wait for it to stop before testing buttons.

Six speeds plus off

DC motors give you six speed steps instead of the usual three. The low speeds are quiet enough for sleeping and the top speeds move a lot of air on hot days. The new receiver restores the full range from your remote.

Before you order

Not for AC-motor Casablanca fans or Casablanca 4-speed universal receiver systems.
Not a universal receiver. It is made for Casablanca DC fans that came with the RH787T remote.

Setup & Pairing

Cut power at the breaker panel and confirm the fan is dead.
Drop the canopy so you can see the receiver inside.
Photograph the wiring, then disconnect the old receiver.
Connect the replacement receiver the same way, keeping the connections secure, and tuck it neatly back into the canopy.
Raise the canopy, tighten its screws and turn the breaker back on.
Pair it: within 60 seconds of power-up, press Set on the RH787T, then let the fan finish its back-and-forth setup run of about 5 minutes.
Try every button to confirm the fan and light respond.

Tip: a helper on the ground saves trips up and down the ladder.
