Your CAF56BNK5CRS is a 56-in Harbor Breeze Bayou Creek ceiling fan with a brushed nickel finish. At Lowe's it carried item number 708660. Remote control problems on a fan this age usually trace back to the receiver hidden above the fan. Swap in this receiver and you get three speeds, off and light dimming back on the remote.

The model label on top of the motor housing should read CAF56BNK5CRS; if it does, you are in the right place. There are no DIP switches to set; it learns your remote in about 30 seconds.

Don't forget the ground

The green or bare copper ground wire is easy to leave loose when you are focused on the receiver leads. Reconnect it to the bracket or ground screw just as it was before. It does not affect pairing, but it matters for safety.

Wobble and noise are not the receiver

A receiver controls power, so it will not fix a wobble or a clicking blade. Those usually come from loose blade screws or an unbalanced blade. If your fan wobbles, tighten the blade hardware and use a balancing kit; the receiver swap is a separate job.

Setup & Pairing

The swap is mostly unscrewing and reconnecting a few wires.

Shut off the fan circuit at the breaker before you start.
Lower the canopy and disconnect the old receiver, noting which wire went where.
Wire in the new receiver lead for lead, following your photo, and twist each wire nut snug.
Make sure other fans with learning receivers are switched off, so only this one learns the remote.
Flip the breaker on and, inside about 30 seconds, press and hold 0 on the remote. Two blinks from the light mean it paired.
Cycle through the speeds and the light to confirm everything responds.

Tip: keep the old receiver until the new one is working.
