If the light flickers when dimmed

Flicker at low dim levels usually comes from the bulbs, not the receiver. If your fan takes screw-in bulbs, use ones marked dimmable, and use the same type in every socket. Mixing old and new bulbs, or LED and incandescent, can cause uneven dimming.

Quit after a storm or outage?

Receivers sit on house power all the time, so a power surge can damage them while the motor survives. If your fan stopped answering right after a storm, a breaker trip or electrical work, the receiver is a strong suspect. Check the breaker and wall switch first, then plan the swap.

Setup & Pairing

The swap is mostly unscrewing and reconnecting a few wires.

Switch off the breaker that feeds the CAF48BNK5LRC, then confirm the power is off.
Lower the canopy and disconnect the old receiver, noting which wire went where.
Wire in the new receiver lead for lead, following your photo, and twist each wire nut snug.
Make sure other fans with learning receivers are switched off, so only this one learns the remote.
Bring the power back and press and hold the remote's 0 button within about 30 seconds; let go when the light blinks twice.
Try low, medium and high, then the light, before closing up the canopy.
