About the Hampton Bay 26603 Remote

The Hampton Bay 26603 is the 52-inch Windward IV ceiling fan. Our replacement remote handles down-light dimming, three speeds and automatic off with the Fan Timer, so the fan works the way it did out of the box. Check your old remote's buttons too: this is the Fan Timer version with no reverse key.

It is made for the Hampton Bay 26603. Check the model sticker on the fan: if it reads 26603, this is the remote you need. Match the four DIP switches inside the battery compartment and it's ready.

Receivers it works with

It pairs with thermostatic LCD-type receivers that use four DIP switches, such as the UC7067FCRX, FAN28R-T, UC70960TX and UC7067REVB. If your fan's receiver uses a different code system, this remote won't pair.

Windward IV fans

Windward IV 52-in fans use this Fan Timer remote with a thermostatic receiver. Some Windward IV fans came with a different remote, so compare the button layout and the label on the back of your old one before ordering.

Before you order

Not for Hampton Bay Windward III fans that came with a remote with a red or orange light button. This remote will not run the light on those fans.
Down-light dimming only. If your fan has both an up-light and a down-light, this remote can't control them separately.

Setup & Pairing

No learning step or app is needed; the code is set by switches.

Switch the breaker for the fan off before you start.
Open the battery compartment of the new remote to reach its four DIP switches.
Write down the up/down positions from the old remote or the canopy receiver.
Match all four switches, add four AAA batteries and replace the cover.
Switch the breaker on and test the fan and the light.

If nothing happens, recheck that every switch matches; one switch off is enough to stop it.

In the box: Replacement remote with Fan Timer key for the Hampton Bay 26603 fan, a wall mount bracket and two screws.

Not if your Windward III came with a remote that has a red or orange light button. This remote will not run the light on those fans, so check your old remote before ordering.

How do I switch the display to Fahrenheit?

Press the small F/C button in the pin-hole on the back with a pen tip.

Where do I find my fan's model number?

Look for a sticker on top of the motor housing, or check the owner's manual or the carton. Store order history from Lowe's or Home Depot also lists it.

I don't have my old remote. How do I set the switches?

Turn off the power at the breaker, lower the fan's canopy and read the DIP switches on the receiver. Set this remote to the same pattern.
