About the Harbor Breeze 43387 Remote

The Harbor Breeze 43387 is the 52-inch Oxford ceiling fan in matte black, sold as Lowe's item 5737478. This remote gives it one-press speed buttons and light switching for dimmable or non-dimmable kits again, without changing anything in the fan. This Oxford's AM-3L receiver learns the new remote after a power cycle and one Learn press.

Setup & Pairing

Stand by the wall switch with the remote in hand, then follow these steps.

Put a fresh 12V A23 battery in the remote, matching the + and - marks.
Cut power to the fan with the wall switch or breaker.
Turn the power back on.
Before 30 seconds pass, press the Learn button inside the battery compartment.
Pairing is complete when the fan runs on low and the light switches off.

Once it's paired, mount the bracket and keep the remote on it between uses.

My old remote says A25-TX001-R1. Will this work?

No. That remote runs on 315 MHz and is a different product, so it won't pair with these receivers.

Is a battery included?

No. It takes one 12V A23, which most hardware stores and pharmacies carry.

Should the wall switch stay on?

Yes. The receiver in the fan needs power to hear the remote, so leave the wall switch on and use the remote for everything.

Why does the fan respond only some of the time?

Start with a fresh battery and try from closer. If it still drops out, pair it again with a fresh power cycle and a press of the Learn button.
