About the Harbor Breeze Crosswinds Remote

Crosswinds and Crosswinds II are 52-inch Harbor Breeze fans found in a lot of homes. Lowe's sold the Crosswinds II under item numbers such as 0599849, 0599848 and 0599656. If the original remote broke or went missing, this one brings back speed, off and light control.

If your fan's manual or box says Crosswinds, this is the remote to order. Pairing takes about a minute: power off, power on, and hold Learn for about 5 seconds within 30 seconds.

Moved into a home with this fan?

Previous owners often take or lose fan remotes. Start by reading the model sticker on the motor housing, then look for the old manual in a kitchen drawer. Once you've matched the fan, pairing a new remote takes about a minute.

Cleaning the remote

Wipe the remote with a dry or barely damp cloth. Don't spray cleaner directly on it, since liquid can seep in around the buttons. A cotton swab clears grime between the keys. Keep it off wet bathroom counters and away from the kitchen sink.

Before you order

No receiver is included. Your fan's original receiver needs to be working.
The A25-TX00I remote used on Boltz and Oxford fans looks similar but runs on 304 MHz, and this remote won't pair with those fans.

Setup & Pairing

Put one 12V A23 battery in the Crosswinds remote, matching the + and - marks.
Turn off any other fans with this style of remote, so only this fan hears the pairing signal.
Switch the fan off at its wall switch or breaker, wait a few seconds, and restore power.
Inside 30 seconds of power returning, keep the Learn button pressed for about 5 seconds.
The fan starts on low with the light off once it has learned the remote. If not, cycle the power and repeat.

Tip: after pairing, test the dimmer at a low level to confirm your bulbs dim smoothly.
