About the Hunter K6266 Remote

A dropped, chewed or simply worn-out K6266 doesn't mean a new fan. This remote restores a fan button, + and - speed keys and a light dimmer. Look for K6266 on the back of your old remote; on many units it's printed inside the battery cover instead. If your old remote rests in a wall cradle and takes two AAA batteries, that matches this one.

Check the label on your old remote: if it reads K6266, this is the one you need. Syncing takes a minute at the wall switch.

Testing after setup

Once the remote is set up, run through every button in order: each fan speed, off, and every light function. Step through all four speeds with the fan button and the + and - keys, then try the light and the dimmer. If one function doesn't respond while the others do, note which one before you contact us, since that points to the fix.

Remote only

This is a handheld replacement. Your fan must already have a compatible Hunter or Casablanca receiver installed. If your Casablanca runs on pull chains and has no receiver, the 99199 receiver goes in first.

Before you order

Pull-chain Casablanca fans need the 99199 receiver (sold separately) first.
Not a universal remote; not for other brands' receivers.

Setup & Pairing

Keep your fan's manual handy in case it names a different pairing button.

Load two fresh AAA batteries.
Switch the fan off at the wall or breaker, wait 10 seconds or more, and switch it back on.
Within the receiver's pairing window, press and hold the fan button (or the button named in your fan's manual) until the fan or light responds.
Check each of the four speeds and dim the light up and down.

Use dimmable bulbs for smooth dimming.

Does it come with a receiver?

No. It replaces the handheld only. Your fan must already have a compatible receiver.

How do I pair it?

Put in two AAA batteries. Turn the fan's power off for at least 10 seconds and back on, then press and hold the fan button until the fan or light responds.

What batteries does it take?

Two AAA batteries, not included.

Why does the light flicker when I dim it?

Usually the bulbs are not dimmable, or different bulb types are mixed in one fixture. Full-range dimming needs dimmable bulbs and a compatible receiver.

What should I do with my old remote?

Keep it until the new one is working, since its label and settings are handy to compare. Then take out the battery and recycle it.

When will my order ship?
