About the Harbor Breeze HTD20005-BK Light Kit

On the black Kenton 60-in, sold by Lowe's as item 3415246, the model label reads HTD20005-BK. When its integrated LED flickers or quits, you can replace just the light. This module matches the factory 18W warm white output and dims in four steps: 25, 50, 75 and 100 percent.

Not sure of your model? A flashlight and a look at the sticker on top of the motor housing will tell you, and HTD20005-BK there means you are in the right place. There is a single keyed connector to the motor assembly and three screws to fasten, so the swap is quick. There is nothing to pair, and the remote keeps its four brightness steps.

Check the remote battery

When the light and the fan both ignore the remote, try a fresh CR2032 coin cell before anything else. Open the battery door, note which side faces up, and swap it. It is the cheapest fix on the whole fan, and it rules out the simplest cause.

What 3000K looks like

3000K is a warm white, close to the glow of a classic incandescent bulb. It is soft enough for bedrooms and living rooms and still bright enough to read by. Because it matches the factory light, the room looks the same as it did before the old LED failed.

Before you order

• Only fits the Kenton 60-in. Berkshire, Cartersville and Northline fans each need their own version.

Setup & Pairing

1. Cut the power at the breaker panel first.
2. Unscrew the cover and lower the old module.
3. Line up the keyed connector with the one on the motor assembly and push it together. It only fits one way.
4. Lift the module into place and drive the three screws.
5. Check that the fan's DIM/ON switch is set to DIM, the factory setting.
6. Restore power and test the light. No pairing is needed.

Tip: wash the cover while it is down so the new light shines clearly.
