About the Harbor Breeze BRD48BNK6LR Receiver

The Harbor Breeze Bradbury 48-in with the brushed nickel finish and built-in LED light is model BRD48BNK6LR. Lowe's sold it as item 2599780. When the receiver fails, the remote stops running the fan and light even with a fresh battery. Our replacement brings back three fan speeds plus off and full light dimming.

Keep the old receiver until you are done

Set the old receiver aside rather than tossing it right away. Its label is handy if you need to contact us, and comparing the two side by side helps you match each wire. Once the new one is working, you can recycle the old part.

Seasonal direction

In summer, run the fan counterclockwise, viewed from below, for a cooling breeze. In winter, clockwise on low gently pushes warm air down from the ceiling. If your fan has a direction switch on the motor housing, stop the fan completely before you flip it.

Before you order

Some fans came with a plug-in receiver that has a square plug instead of wire-nut leads. Contact us if yours has a plug.

Setup & Pairing

Plan on about an hour, most of it spent at the canopy.

Turn off power to the BRD48BNK6LR at the breaker.
Loosen the canopy screws, slide the canopy down and take a photo of the old receiver wiring before you disconnect it.
Connect the new receiver with wire nuts the same way the old one was connected.
Make sure other fans with learning receivers are switched off, so only this one learns the remote.
Flip the breaker on and, inside about 30 seconds, press and hold 0 on the remote. Two blinks from the light mean it paired.
Try low, medium and high, then the light, before closing up the canopy.

Tip: if the light does not blink, turn the power off for a few seconds and try again.
