About the Hunter 99119 Remote

When the 99119 that came with your Hunter fan goes missing or quits, the fan is stuck on its last setting. Our replacement brings back four speeds and light dimming on a compatible receiver. The 99119 number is usually on a label on the back of the remote, or inside the battery compartment next to the battery. Compare the layout: a fan button, plus and minus keys for the four speeds, and a light button that dims.

Getting full range

This remote talks to the fan by radio, so you don't need to aim it, and the signal passes through the canopy and light glass. Range drops as the battery weakens, and large metal objects between you and the fan can cut it down. If it only works up close, a new battery fixes it most of the time.

The pairing window

The receiver accepts a new remote only for a short time after it gets power. Turn the fan off for at least 10 seconds, turn it back on, and press and hold the fan button right away until the fan or light responds. Some fan manuals name a different button for this step, so check yours if the fan button doesn't work.

Install 2 AAA batteries.
Switch the fan off at the wall or breaker, wait 10 seconds or more, and switch it back on.
While the receiver is still in its pairing window, hold the fan button, or the button your manual names, until the fan or light answers.
Test the 4 fan speeds and the light dimmer.

Keep the remote in its wall cradle between uses.
