About the Harbor Breeze 42469 Remote

Harbor Breeze sells the 52-inch Boltz II ceiling fan in matte black as model 42469, and it carries an LED light. Our replacement remote handles High, Medium and Low, an Off key and a light button, so the fan works the way it did out of the box. Up in the canopy, the fan's MR173B receiver learns this remote's code after a quick power cycle.

It is made for the Harbor Breeze 42469. Check the model sticker on the fan: if it reads 42469, this is the remote you need. There are no DIP switches: cycle the power, press Learn, and it pairs.

Where to put the wall holder

Pick a spot near the room's main doorway at about light-switch height, so everyone knows where the remote lives. Keep it out of direct sun and away from heaters, and skip metal surfaces, which can weaken the signal. Use drywall anchors if you miss a stud. Before you drive the screws, stand at the spot and test a button or two.

One remote per receiver

Each receiver stores one remote's code, and this system isn't designed for two remotes on one fan. If you want a spare, keep it in a drawer rather than pairing both. When you do switch remotes, just pair the one you plan to use.

Before you order

A remote marked A25-TX001-R1 looks similar but runs on 315 MHz, so it is not a match.

Setup & Pairing

Pairing takes about a minute and needs no tools.

Put a fresh 12V A23 battery in the remote, matching the + and - marks.
Switch off power to the fan at the wall switch or at the breaker.
Wait a few seconds, then restore power.
Before 30 seconds pass, press the Learn button inside the battery compartment.
Watch the fan: it drops to low and the light goes off once it has paired.

Missed the window? Turn the power off and on again and repeat the Learn press.
