About the Harbor Breeze 40105 Remote

The Harbor Breeze 40105 has both an up-light and a down-light, run by an FD40-H03R receiver. This replacement controls each light on its own or together, dims them, and handles six speeds, Natural Breeze, reverse and the sleep timer.

Made for fans labeled 40105. It pairs by learning code, so the FD40-H03R receiver memorizes it right after the power comes back. A small DIP switch in the battery compartment gives it a fresh code if another remote interferes.

What Natural Breeze does

Natural Breeze mode varies the fan's speed on its own, so the air feels more like a breeze through an open window than a steady blast. Many people like it for porches, sunrooms and summer evenings. Press any speed button to go back to a fixed speed.

When another remote sets off your fan

If a neighbor's remote or a second fan's remote turns your fan on, give it a new code. Slide the small DIP switch in the battery compartment from 0 to 1, then cycle the fan's power and press Learn again. The fan forgets the old code and learns the new one.

Before you order

No receiver is included. Your fan's receiver must still be working.

Setup & Pairing

Load a 12V A23 battery (sold separately) into the 40105 remote, checking the polarity marks.
Flip the fan's circuit off and on. When it powers up, the receiver sounds two tones.
Right away, and within 30 seconds, press Learn on the back.
When the light flashes 3 times, stays on, and the fan spins up on high, pairing is done.
If nothing happens, cycle the power again and press Learn faster.
Neighbor's remote triggering the fan? Move the battery-compartment DIP switch from 0 to 1, then repeat the pairing.

Tip: after pairing, test each speed, the light and reverse before you mount the cradle.
