About the Harbor Breeze 0464466 Remote

Lowe's item 0464466 is a 48-inch Harbor Breeze fan in brushed nickel with an RECDC8294 receiver. The model number is printed on the motor housing and inside the original remote's battery cover. This replacement brings back six speeds, reverse and dimming.

Built for item 0464466, it learns the RECDC8294 receiver already in the fan, so there's nothing to rewire. The light blinks 3 times and the fan starts on high once it's paired.

Choosing among six speeds

Speed 1 is the gentlest and speed 6 the strongest. The middle speeds suit most evenings, while 5 or 6 earn their keep on hot afternoons or in a crowded room. A ceiling fan cools people rather than the room itself, so switch it off when the room is empty.

Up-light and down-light

Some fans in this group have both an up-light and a down-light. With a receiver like the FD40-H03R, you can switch and dim each one on its own or run both together. Fans with an FD30-H02R receiver have a down-light only, so the up-light buttons won't do anything there.

Before you order

No receiver is included. Your fan's receiver must still be working.

Setup & Pairing

Put a 12V A23 battery in the remote, matching the + and - marks.
Switch the fan off at its wall switch or breaker, then restore power and listen for two tones.
Inside the 30-second window, press the Learn button on the remote's back.
The light blinks 3 times and stays on, and the fan starts on high. That means it's paired.
Didn't take? Start over at the power step and press Learn sooner after the tones.

In the box: one replacement remote, a wall cradle plus screws, and printed instructions. The A23 battery is sold separately.
