Model 00874 is a 44-inch Mazon from Harbor Breeze, a compact fan that suits bedrooms and smaller rooms. Its remote runs the speeds, the timer and the dimmer, so a lost one leaves you stuck. Our replacement restores the full set.

Skip the wall dimmer

These fans should be powered from a standard on/off wall switch. Don't run them from a rheostat or full-range dimmer wall control, because it can damage the fan or the remote. Do all your dimming from the remote's light button instead.

After a power outage

Storms and surges can make a fan lose track of its remote. If the buttons stop working after the lights flicker, pair again: switch the power off and on, then press Learn on the back of the remote within 30 seconds. It takes about a minute.

Before you order

Use a standard on/off wall switch, not a rheostat or full-range dimmer, or you risk damaging the fan or remote.

Setup & Pairing

Open the battery cover of the 00874 remote and insert an A23 12-volt battery the right way round.
Cycle the power: off at the switch or breaker, then on again. Two tones mean the receiver is listening.
Before 30 seconds pass, press Learn on the back of the remote.
Success looks like three blinks of the light, then the light staying on and the fan running on high.
No luck? Repeat the power off/on step and press Learn a little sooner.

Tip: write the pairing steps on a sticky note inside a cabinet door for next time.

In the box: one 00874 replacement remote, a wall cradle plus screws, and printed instructions. The A23 battery is sold separately.
