Will This Remote Fit?

This remote is made to replace the UC7212T. Check the label on your old remote (often inside the battery cover) — if it reads UC7212T, this is the one you need.

About the Emerson UC7212T Remote

Rather than climbing up to the pull chains, swap in this remote for your missing UC7212T and bring back six speeds with an LED indicator, one-touch reverse and separate up-light and down-light dimming. Slide the battery cover off your old remote and you'll typically find UC7212T on the label there or on the back. Compare the buttons: six speeds, off, reverse and two light controls.

Match the number first: this page is for the UC7212T. Batteries are included, so you can set it up as soon as it arrives.

  • Two AAA batteries included
  • Wall bracket in the box
  • Six fan speeds with an LED indicator

Finding your fan's model number

Most ceiling fans carry a model sticker on top of the motor housing. You can usually read it from a ladder once the canopy cover is slid down, or with the light kit removed. The same number is in the owner's manual and on the carton. If the fan came from Lowe's or Home Depot, your online order history shows the model and item number too. Take a phone photo of the sticker so you have it next time.

Two lights, two controls

The up-light and the down-light each have their own control, and both dim. Bounce soft light off the ceiling with the up-light, or keep the down-light bright for reading.

Before you order

  • Dimming is made for incandescent bulbs up to 250 W. Dimmable LED bulbs may flicker or not dim smoothly.

Setup & Pairing

Here's the setup in brief.

  1. Make sure the receiver in your fan is an RC188, RC212 or RCK55.
  2. Insert the two AAA batteries into the remote.
  3. Set the remote to your receiver as the included instructions show, then try the speeds and both lights.

Use incandescent bulbs for the smoothest dimming.

In the box: UC7212T replacement remote with 2 AAA batteries and a wall bracket with hardware.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it include a receiver?

No. This is the handheld remote only, made to work with the receiver already in your fan.

Can I use LED bulbs?

The dimmer is rated for incandescent bulbs up to 250 W, so dimmable LEDs may flicker or not dim properly.

Can I control the up-light and down-light separately?

Yes. Each light has its own control, and both can be dimmed.

Where do I find my fan's model number?

Look for a sticker on top of the motor housing, or check the owner's manual or the carton. Store order history from Lowe's or Home Depot also lists it.

Should the wall switch stay on?

Yes. The receiver in the fan needs power to hear the remote, so leave the wall switch on and use the remote for everything.

When will my order ship?

In-stock orders placed by 4 PM, Monday to Friday, ship the same business day.

What is your return policy?

You can return items within 90 days. Items must be unused and uninstalled, in their original packaging. No restocking fees. Please read our return policy before sending anything back. Questions? Call (816) 586-8457 or email info@fanremotes.com.

Is there a warranty?

Yes. Every product we sell comes with a 1-year warranty against defects. If it fails because of a defect, contact us and we’ll send a replacement.
