About the slide switch

Inside the battery compartment there is a small slide switch. The pairing steps call for position 1, so set it there before you start and leave it alone afterward. If pairing will not take, check this switch first, since a bumped switch is a common cause.

Two fans in one room

Pair one fan at a time. Learn-code receivers listen to the first remote that signals during the pairing window, so cut power to the second fan at its breaker while you set up the first. Then restore power and pair the second fan with its own remote.

Setup & Pairing

No DIP switches to set. Follow these steps with the fan in view.

Put two fresh AAA batteries in the remote and leave the battery door off for now.
Check the slide switch next to the batteries and set it to 1.
Shut off the fan circuit at the switch or breaker, pause briefly, and bring the power back.
Press the Learn button once, within 30 seconds of power coming back.
The fan answers by flashing its light and starting the blades. If it stays still, try the sequence once more.

Tip: mount the wall holder after you confirm the remote works.
