About the Harbor Breeze Santa Ana Remote

Santa Ana fans from Harbor Breeze are 48-inch DC models with an RECDC8294 receiver. The model number is printed on the motor housing and inside the original remote's battery cover. This replacement pairs with that receiver and restores six speeds, Natural Breeze, reverse and dimming.

Built for Santa Ana fans, it learns the RECDC8294 receiver with one press of the Learn button. The light blinks 3 times and the fan runs on high when it's ready.

Walk Away Light Delay

Walk Away Light Delay turns the fan and light off one minute after you press it. That gives you time to cross a dark room, get to the hallway or settle into bed before everything shuts off. No more reaching for the remote in the dark.

What the two tones mean

Right after you restore power, the receiver plays two tones. That's your cue that the 30-second pairing window has opened. Press Learn on the back of the remote, and watch the light blink 3 times while the fan starts on high.

Before you order

No receiver is included. Your fan's receiver must still be working.
Use a standard on/off wall switch, not a rheostat or full-range dimmer, or you risk damaging the fan or remote.

Setup & Pairing

Load a 12V A23 battery (sold separately) into the Santa Ana remote, checking the polarity marks.
Flip the fan's circuit off and on. When it powers up, the receiver sounds two tones.
Before 30 seconds pass, press Learn on the back of the remote.
Watch for the light to blink 3 times and stay lit while the fan runs on high: you're paired.
No luck? Repeat the power off/on step and press Learn a little sooner.

Tip: drop the remote in its wall cradle right after pairing so it never wanders off.

In the box: the Santa Ana replacement remote, its wall-mount cradle and screws, and a set of instructions (battery not included).
