About the Home Decorators Collection SW1422/48in/MBK Light Kit

Model SW1422/48in/MBK is the matte black Merwry in the 48-inch size. Its built-in light runs on a round LED array, and a flicker, a fade or a sudden blackout usually points to that array when the fan still runs normally. This replacement brings back a warm 3000K light.

Read the label on the motor housing first. If it shows SW1422/48in/MBK, this is your array. A wiring connector and mounting hardware come in the box. There is no pairing step.

Wear eye protection overhead

Dust and debris fall out of a light housing as soon as the cover comes off. Simple safety glasses keep it out of your eyes while you look up. A dust mask helps too if the fan has gone a few years without a cleaning.

Hold on to the old module

Keep the old module until the new light is up and working. Comparing them side by side shows you how the new one sits. Once you are happy, recycle the old board with electronics rather than household trash, where your area allows.

Setup & Pairing

Safety first: turn off power to the fan at the breaker, not just the wall switch or remote.
Lower the light cover and unscrew the old round array.
Unhook the old array and join the new one using the wiring connector from the box.
Secure the array using the included hardware, then put the cover back.
Restore power and switch the light on to test it.

Tip: a photo of the old wiring makes reconnecting easy.
