About the Harbor Breeze 42224 Remote

The Harbor Breeze 42224 is the 52-inch Elmhurst ceiling fan in white. Our replacement remote handles Low, Medium, High and Off plus a breeze setting and light dimming, so the fan works the way it did out of the box. It pairs with the MR101T receiver already in the Elmhurst, so no new receiver is needed.

It is made for the Harbor Breeze 42224. Check the model sticker on the fan: if it reads 42224, this is the remote you need. The fan confirms pairing by starting on low with the light off.

What breeze mode does

Breeze mode changes the fan's speed on its own for a more natural feel, a bit like a gust through a window. It's a pleasant setting on a porch or for sleeping. Press a regular speed key to go back to a steady speed.

Size and layout

At about 2 by 6 inches, it's a slim remote with one key per function: three speeds, off, breeze and the light. It fits the included wall bracket, which keeps it handy by the door.

Only works with 304.25 MHz learning-code receivers. Fans on other frequencies need a different remote.
Made for 3-speed AC fans. Not for DC-motor fans.

Setup & Pairing

Pairing takes about a minute and needs no tools.

Load the battery and close the cover.
Cycle the fan's power: off at the wall switch or breaker, then on again.
Inside the 30-second window, press High and Low together and hold for 5 seconds.
Watch for the fan to start on low with the light off; that confirms it.

If two fans share a circuit, turn the other one off at its wall switch while you pair.
