Lowe's item 0184428 is a Harbor Breeze fan whose owner's manual shows a remote with a slide season switch, a different layout from this one. Look at your old remote before you order. If it has that slide switch, or you're unsure, contact us first.

Cleaning the remote

Wipe the remote with a dry or barely damp cloth. Don't spray cleaner on it directly, since liquid can seep in around the buttons. A cotton swab clears grime between the keys. Keep it off wet bathroom counters and away from the kitchen sink.

Homes with several fans

When two similar fans are powered during pairing, both may respond to the new remote. Switch off every fan except the one you're pairing, at the wall or the breaker. Pair each fan with its own remote, one at a time, then turn the rest back on.

Setup & Pairing

Put a 12V A23 battery in the remote, matching the + and - marks.
Switch the fan off at its wall switch or breaker, then restore power and listen for two tones.
Inside the 30-second window, press the Learn button on the remote's back.
The light blinks 3 times and stays on, and the fan starts on high. That means it's paired.
No luck? Repeat the power off/on step and press Learn a little sooner.

Tip: set the sleep timer once to learn how it works before bedtime.

In the box: replacement remote, wall-mount cradle with mounting screws, and instructions. Battery not included.
