About the Harbor Breeze 00886 Remote

Harbor Breeze model 00886 is a 60-inch Saratoga fan. If its remote has quit or gone missing, this replacement restores six speeds, reverse and light dimming, plus Walk Away Light Delay and Home Shield.

We made this remote for the 00886, and it pairs with the receiver without tools. The whole job is a trip to the wall switch, one press of Learn, and a quick test of each button.

Where to mount the wall cradle

Put the cradle near the room's main entry, around light switch height, so the remote sits where you already reach. Avoid spots above a heat vent or in strong afternoon sun, since heat shortens battery life. The inside of a closet door works if you'd rather keep it out of sight.

How learn-code pairing works

The remote sends a code that the receiver memorizes. The receiver only listens for a new code for a short time after power returns, which is why you press Learn within 30 seconds of switching the fan back on. Miss the window and simply try again.

Before you order

The Saratoga II (model 00581) uses a different remote, the A25-TX007, and this one won't work with it.
Don't power the fan from a rheostat or full-range dimmer wall control; it can damage the fan or the remote.

Setup & Pairing

Fit one 12V A23 battery into the 00886 remote, lining up the + and - ends.
Turn the fan's power off at the wall switch or breaker, then back on. The receiver plays two tones.
Within 30 seconds, press the Learn button on the back of the remote.
When the light flashes 3 times, stays on, and the fan spins up on high, pairing is done.
If nothing happens, cycle the power again and press Learn faster.
If another remote also runs this fan, slide the DIP switch in the battery compartment from 0 to 1 and pair again.

Tip: drop the remote in its wall cradle right after pairing so it never wanders off.

In the box: one 00886 replacement remote, a wall cradle plus screws, and printed instructions. The A23 battery is sold separately.
