About the Harbor Breeze 1117022 Receiver
The Harbor Breeze fan sold at Lowe's as item 1117022 runs its remote through a receiver mounted above the fan. If the fan runs on one speed, will not shut off or ignores the remote, the receiver in the canopy is the likely culprit. Our replacement brings back three fan speeds plus off and full light dimming.
Confirm item 1117022 on your paperwork or box label before you order. Pairing takes one button and about 30 seconds.
- Pairs with TR214-series learning remotes
- Comfort Direct replacement receiver
- Light on/off and dimming
- 3 fan speeds plus off
Light works but the fan does not (or the reverse)
When only half the fan responds, look at the simple things first. Try a known-good bulb or check that the light kit plug is seated. If the light and bulbs check out and one function still ignores the remote, the receiver's switching for that output has likely failed.
Be ready for the 30-second window
Pairing has to happen within about 30 seconds of power coming back on. Put the remote in your hand, with a working battery, before you flip the breaker. If someone else can work the breaker while you stand under the fan, the timing gets even easier.
Before you order
- Some fans came with a plug-in receiver that has a square plug instead of wire-nut leads. Contact us if yours has a plug.
Setup & Pairing
The swap is mostly unscrewing and reconnecting a few wires.
- Start with the breaker: turn it off and check that the fan is dead.
- Lower the canopy and disconnect the old receiver, noting which wire went where.
- Hook up the replacement receiver with wire nuts exactly as the old one was wired, then tuck it into the canopy.
- Power down any other nearby fans first; otherwise they could pair to the same remote.
- Turn the breaker back on. Within about 30 seconds, press and hold the remote's 0 (fan off) button until the light blinks twice.
- Run all three speeds and try the light and dimming.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this replacement receiver for the Harbor Breeze 1117022 fit my ceiling fan?
It fits the 1 model listed under Compatible Models on this page. If your model isn’t listed, call us at (816) 586-8457 and we’ll check for you.
Which remotes work with it?
It pairs with the TR214D, TR214B, TR214A, KUJCE10311, KUJCE10712, 2AQZU-18018 and 2AQZU-18038 remotes. Other remotes, even on the same frequency, may not work.
What frequency does it use?
It runs at 304.25 MHz and pairs with the learning-code remotes listed on this page.
Can I keep my wall dimmer?
We recommend a standard on/off wall switch. The receiver handles dimming, and a wall dimmer can interfere with it.
Do I need an electrician?
Not usually. If you are comfortable turning off a breaker and using wire nuts, you can do it. If the wiring looks damaged or confusing, call a licensed electrician.
My fan stopped responding after a storm. Is it the receiver?
Quite possibly. Power surges often damage the receiver while the motor survives. Check the breaker and wall switch first.
When will my order ship?
In-stock orders placed by 4 PM, Monday to Friday, ship the same business day.
What is your return policy?
You can return items within 90 days. Items must be unused and uninstalled, in their original packaging. No restocking fees. Please read our return policy before sending anything back. Questions? Call (816) 586-8457 or email info@fanremotes.com.
Is there a warranty?
Yes. Every product we sell comes with a 1-year warranty against defects. If it fails because of a defect, contact us and we’ll send a replacement.
