About the Harbor Breeze 1117035 Receiver

Lowe's item 1117035 is a remote-controlled Harbor Breeze ceiling fan. The motor in a fan like this usually outlasts the receiver, so a dead remote rarely means a dead fan. This receiver wires in at the canopy and puts speed and light control back where they belong.

Check your Lowe's receipt or the fan box: if it shows item 1117035, this is the one you need. Setup is simple: restore power and hold the remote's 0 button.

  • 3 fan speeds plus off
  • Backed by our 1-year warranty
  • Comfort Direct replacement receiver
  • Restores remote control without replacing the fan

Light works but the fan does not (or the reverse)

When only half the fan responds, look at the simple things first. Try a known-good bulb or check that the light kit plug is seated. If the light and bulbs check out and one function still ignores the remote, the receiver's switching for that output has likely failed.

Wire-nut tips

Hold the wire ends side by side, push the wire nut on and twist clockwise until it is snug. Give each wire a gentle tug to confirm it is held, and make sure no bare copper shows below the nut. A wrap of electrical tape adds extra security in a tight canopy.

Before you order

  • Check that your old receiver has wire leads, not a square plug, before you order.
  • Make sure your remote is one of the learning-code models listed on this page.

Setup & Pairing

  1. Shut off the fan circuit at the breaker before you start.
  2. Loosen the canopy screws, slide the canopy down and take a photo of the old receiver wiring before you disconnect it.
  3. Hook up the replacement receiver with wire nuts exactly as the old one was wired, then tuck it into the canopy.
  4. Power down any other nearby fans first; otherwise they could pair to the same remote.
  5. Turn the breaker back on. Within about 30 seconds, press and hold the remote's 0 (fan off) button until the light blinks twice.
  6. Try low, medium and high, then the light, before closing up the canopy.

Tip: if the light does not blink, turn the power off for a few seconds and try again.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this replacement receiver for the Harbor Breeze 1117035 fit my ceiling fan?

It fits the 1 model listed under Compatible Models on this page. If your model isn’t listed, call us at (816) 586-8457 and we’ll check for you.

Can I reverse the fan from the remote?

This receiver controls speed and light. If your fan has a direction switch on the motor housing, stop the fan and use that switch.

My remote has DIP switches. Will it pair?

No. This receiver uses learning-code pairing, so a remote with a row of DIP switches will not pair with it.

Does the receiver need a battery?

No. The receiver runs on house power. Only the remote uses a battery.

What do I do with the ground wire?

Reconnect the green or bare ground wire exactly as it was. It does not affect pairing, but it matters for safety.

What if the fan hums after the swap?

Recheck that every wire nut is tight and that no wall dimmer is on the circuit. If it continues, contact us at (816) 586-8457.

When will my order ship?

In-stock orders placed by 4 PM, Monday to Friday, ship the same business day.

What is your return policy?

You can return items within 90 days. Items must be unused and uninstalled, in their original packaging. No restocking fees. Please read our return policy before sending anything back. Questions? Call (816) 586-8457 or email info@fanremotes.com.

Is there a warranty?

Yes. Every product we sell comes with a 1-year warranty against defects. If it fails because of a defect, contact us and we’ll send a replacement.
