About the Fanimation TR29 Remote

Need a new TR29 for your Fanimation fan? This Comfort Direct replacement gives you six DC fan speeds, off, reverse and light control, with a switch inside to set the light for dimming or on/off only.

It is made for DC fans that came with the TR29 remote and use the RH786R receiver, including Casablanca Fellini and Monte Carlo Arcade and Dover fans. Check the label on your old remote: if it reads TR29, this is the one you need. Cycle power, press Set, and let the fan finish pairing.

Before you order

For DC motor fans that use the RH786R receiver. It is not for AC fans.
Not for Fanimation Slinger v2 fans or Home Decorators Collection Kensgrove fans.
On Monte Carlo fans with both up and down lights, it runs the fan speeds and down light but not the up light.

Setup & Pairing

Turn power to the fan off at the wall switch or breaker, then turn it back on.
Within 60 seconds of restoring power, press the Set button on the TR29 remote.
Leave the fan alone. It will run in both directions for about 5 minutes while the receiver finishes setting up. When it stops, the remote is paired.
Set the light switch in the battery compartment to dim for incandescent bulbs, or on/off for LED and CFL bulbs.

How do I pair the TR29 remote with my fan?

Turn the fan's power off and back on, press the Set button within 60 seconds, then wait about 5 minutes while the fan runs in both directions.

My LED bulbs flicker. What can I do?

Set the light switch in the battery compartment to on/off only. Dimming is meant for standard incandescent bulbs.

Will it control the up light on my Monte Carlo fan?

No. On Monte Carlo fans with up and down lights, it controls the fan speeds and the down light only.

What battery does the TR29 take?

What if my old remote has a different number?
