About the Toshiba Mini-Split Remote

Toshiba wall-mounted ductless units tend to keep running for many years, often longer than the handheld remote that came with them. When yours is lost, cracked or fading, this replacement gets your Toshiba mini-split back under control without waiting on a service call.

Setup is a one-time step. Key in the first Toshiba code from the instructions and test it; seventeen Toshiba codes are listed, beginning with 0107, and there's a built-in code search if your unit needs it.

On the Toshiba remote:

Cool, Heat, Dry, Fan and Auto modes
Fan speed, plus swing for the louver
On/off timers and a sleep setting for overnight
Backlit display with the time and room temperature, easy to read in a dark bedroom

Point it at the indoor unit from up to about 25 feet away; it works by infrared, like the original. Each one carries a 1-year warranty and 90-day returns, and orders placed by 4 PM Central ship that day.

Setup & Pairing

Stand where you can see the front of the Toshiba indoor unit before you begin.

Load two AAA batteries under the back cover.
Slide down the door on the front of the remote to uncover SELECT and the other hidden keys. The small number printed in each key's bottom-left corner is the digit it types.
Press SELECT. When the code digits flash, enter 0107.
Point at the indoor unit and press ON/OFF. If nothing happens, press SELECT and enter the next code. Toshiba codes, in order: 0107, 0108, 0109, 0110, 0111, 0112, 0113, 0114, 0115, 0116, 0117, 0479, 0489, 0561, 0562, 1001, 1643.
When the unit beeps back, run through the other keys. A mini-split that answers to power but ignores, say, the swing key usually just wants the next Toshiba code.
Reached the end of the list? Use automatic search: aim at the unit, hold SELECT for 5 seconds, then press any key the instant the mini-split responds to lock in that code.

To finish, set the time with CLOCK and TIME +/-, pressing CLOCK again to save, and press C/F to show °F.
