About the Universal KTN828 Remote
Lost or broken the remote for your mini-split, window or portable AC? The KTN828 is a universal infrared AC remote that you set up with your brand's code. It brings back power, mode, temperature, fan, swing, timer and sleep, with a backlit screen that shows the time and room temperature.
It works with many brands, including LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi, Daikin and Fujitsu. Check the included code list for your brand, enter the code, and test. If the first code doesn't respond, try the next one or let auto search find a match.

Before you order
- Infrared only. It won't run AC units that use a radio-frequency (RF) or Wi-Fi-only remote.
- It works with many brands, not every unit. A few units, including some Frigidaire models, have no working code.
- Brand-specific extras like eco or self-clean modes may not carry over.
Setup & Pairing
- Put in two AAA batteries and stand where the remote can see the front of your AC's indoor unit.
- Find your AC brand in the included code list. Enter the first code for that brand (press Set, use + / - to choose the code, then press Set again).
- Press power. If the unit doesn't respond, try the next code listed for your brand.
- No luck? Use auto search: hold the search button and the remote steps through its codes. Stop as soon as the AC beeps or responds.
- Once it responds, test power, mode and temperature. If only some buttons work, try another code for fuller control.

How do I set up the KTN828?
Put in two AAA batteries, look up your brand in the code list and enter the code. If the unit doesn't respond, try the next code for your brand, or use auto search.
The code for my brand didn't work. Now what?
Try every code listed for your brand, then run auto search. Customers have found working codes this way, for example code 0107 on a Lennox unit and 0529 on a Sanyo unit.
Will every button from my old remote work?
The everyday functions usually do: power, mode, temperature, fan, swing, timer and sleep. Some brand-specific extras may not, so try a few codes to get fuller control.
What batteries does it take?
Two AAA batteries. They aren't included.
