About the AUX Mini-Split Remote

AUX is a newer name in the US, with ductless mini-split heat pumps sold through home-improvement retailers, so dedicated replacement remotes are still hard to come by. This one is set up for AUX mini-splits. Enter an AUX code, point it at the indoor unit, and you're back to running heat in winter and cooling in summer.

Nine AUX codes are printed in the instructions, the first being 0297. Most owners will find their match in that list; if not, an automatic search can take over.

Works by infrared from up to about 25 feet with a clear view of the indoor unit. Uses two AAA batteries, sold separately. AUX orders placed by 4 PM Central go out that day, and each remote carries a 1-year warranty and 90-day returns.

Setup & Pairing

Setting it up for your AUX mini-split:

1. Put two AAA batteries in the back of the remote.
2. Slide down the panel on the lower front to reach SELECT. You'll type the code with the small digits printed in each key's bottom-left corner.
3. Press SELECT so the code area flashes, then enter 0297.
4. Aim at the AUX indoor unit. Silence means it's time to press SELECT and key in the following code. AUX codes, in order: 0297, 0298, 0299, 0300, 0451, 0474, 0475, 0812, 1987.
5. Once the unit beeps, test Heat as well as Cool, plus fan and swing. If the unit responds but a button does nothing, try the next AUX code.
6. No AUX code working? Start the automatic search by holding SELECT for 5 seconds while pointing at the unit. Press any key the instant the mini-split responds to save that code.

Set the clock last: CLOCK, TIME +/-, then CLOCK again. Use the C/F key for Fahrenheit.
