About the Harbor Breeze 44-MZ Light Kit

44-MZ is the UL number printed on the label on top of the motor housing of older Harbor Breeze Mazon 44-in fans, right beside the model number. When the integrated LED in one of these fans fails, the light is simply gone. This 18W module brings it back with warm 3000K light.

If your label reads 44-MZ, this is the module you need. It's dimmable, gives up to 1900 lumens, and comes with a wiring connector and a retrofit lens. Your remote or pull chain controls it just as before.

Cutting off the pin connector

The old module joins the fan through a pin connector that this kit doesn't use. With the breaker off, cut the wires just behind that connector to keep as much length as you can. Then join them to the new module with the included wiring connector.

The retrofit lens

A new retrofit lens comes in the kit, so you don't have to reuse an old cover that may have yellowed or cracked. Fit it once the module is mounted. Handle it by the edges to keep fingerprints off the inside. If dust settles on it later, a soft cloth with a little warm soapy water cleans it up.

Before you order

Newer Mazon fans with MZ44 model numbers take a different LED module. Check your model number before ordering.
You'll cut and join wires, so basic wiring skills or an electrician are needed.

Setup & Pairing

Turn off power to the fan at the breaker.
Lower the light cover and remove the failed module, saving its screws.
Cut off the old pin connector.
Use the wiring connector from the kit to hook up the new module.
Mount the module with your original screws and fit the retrofit lens.
Power up and try the light; there's nothing to pair.
