Item 0451821 is the brushed nickel 52-inch Harbor Breeze Platinum fan. Its receiver sits inside the motor, so there's nothing to replace up there. Pair this remote and you have six speeds, Natural Breeze, reverse, the dimmer and the sleep timer again.

If your box, receipt or manual shows 0451821, this is the remote to order. Turn the fan's power off and on, wait for two tones, and press Learn within 30 seconds.

Battery care

A23 batteries are small 12-volt cells sold at most hardware and grocery stores. Take the battery out if you'll be away for months, and wipe the contacts with a dry cloth if they look dull. A shorter range or a button that needs a second press usually means the battery is fading.

Home Shield turns the light on and off by itself so the house looks lived in while you're away. Turn it on before you leave for a trip, and switch it off when you're back. It works with the fan's own light, so there's no extra timer to buy.

Setup & Pairing

Fit one 12V A23 battery into the remote, lining up the + and - ends.
Turn the fan's power off at the wall switch or breaker, then back on. The receiver plays two tones.
Within 30 seconds, press the Learn button on the back of the remote.
When the light flashes 3 times, stays on, and the fan spins up on high, pairing is done.
Didn't take? Start over at the power step and press Learn sooner after the tones.

Tip: write the pairing steps on a sticky note inside a cabinet door for next time.

In the box: replacement remote, wall-mount cradle with mounting screws, and instructions. Battery not included.
