About the Lennox Mini-Split Remote

Lennox sells ductless mini-splits in the US through its dealer network, and its wall heads are a common sight in additions, garages and finished basements. If the handheld remote for yours has gone missing, here's a replacement you can set up yourself.

Here's the honest version of how setup goes. The instructions give one starting code for Lennox, 0107, and Lennox owners have reported that code working. Lennox has used more than one remote design over the years, so 0107 may not suit every system. When it doesn't, the remote's automatic search steps through its codes until your unit responds.

Once it's set, you'll have:

Cool, Heat, Dry, Fan and Auto, fan speed and vane swing
On/off timers and sleep
A backlit LCD with clock, room temperature and a °F/°C key
A wall bracket, so it stays near the thermostat spot

Setup & Pairing

Allow a few minutes for the code, or longer if you end up using the search.

Insert two AAA batteries under the sliding back cover.
Push the lower front panel down to uncover SELECT. Digits for code entry are printed small in the bottom-left corner of each key.
Press SELECT and enter 0107. Aim at the Lennox indoor unit and press power.
If it responds, go through mode, temperature, fan and swing to see what works.

If 0107 doesn't respond, or some keys stay dead: use auto-search. Stand where the remote can see the indoor head, hold SELECT for 5 seconds and release. The remote starts sending codes in sequence. Watch and listen; when the Lennox beeps or switches on or off, press any key immediately to save that code. A full pass can be slow (one retailer says up to about 45 minutes), so rest your arm on something. If keys are still missing after it locks in, run the search again.

Then set the clock: CLOCK, adjust with TIME +/−, CLOCK again. Use C/F for Fahrenheit.
