About the Harbor Breeze CAL44MBK5L Light Kit

The CAL44MBK5L is the matte black version of the Calverton 44-in, a compact fan that suits bedrooms, offices and smaller rooms. When its built-in LED dies, the fan keeps spinning but the room stays dim. This module is a direct swap for the original and offers five color temperatures, from warm white to daylight.

Match the number first: the label on the motor housing should read CAL44MBK5L. Your original plate and screws hold it in place, just like the old light. Nothing needs pairing, and it dims with the fan's original controls.

Where the model label is

Harbor Breeze puts the model number on a sticker on the motor housing, usually on top. From a ladder, shine a flashlight across the motor and read it there. The same number appears on the box, in the manual and on your store receipt if you kept them.

Picking a color temperature

Five color temperatures let you set the mood. The warmer settings feel cozy in a bedroom or den, while the cooler settings toward daylight look crisp in a kitchen, office or garage. Many people pick warm for living spaces and cool for task work.

Before you order

• Mounting plate and screws are not included. Reuse the ones from your fan.

Setup & Pairing

1. Turn off power to the fan at the breaker.
2. Take off the cover and lower the old module. Set the plate and screws aside.
3. Connect the new module to the fan's light circuit the same way the old one was connected.
4. Fasten it to the original plate with the original screws, then refit the cover.
5. Restore power and test the light. No pairing is needed.

Tip: have a helper hold the module while you connect it.
