About the Tadiran Mini-Split Remote

Tadiran is best known for air conditioners in Israel and other international markets, and its ductless wall units are uncommon in US stores. If you have one installed here, finding a remote locally can be a dead end. Ours is set up for Tadiran with eight codes taken from the instructions.

What you control

Power, the five operating modes (Cool, Heat, Dry, Fan and Auto), fan speed, louver swing, on/off timers and sleep. The display is a backlit LCD with a clock and room temperature, so you can read it in a dark bedroom, and it switches between Celsius and Fahrenheit, which is handy if your unit's original remote only showed °C.

Setup & Pairing

You set this up once; after that it just works like a normal remote.

Put in two AAA batteries (back cover slides off).
Open the hidden-key panel by sliding it down. Find SELECT, and note the tiny digit in the lower-left corner of each key.
Press SELECT and type 0246.
Try power at the Tadiran indoor unit. If nothing happens, repeat with the next code. Full order: 0246, 0247, 0248, 0249, 0250, 0251, 0758, 1275.
Got a response? Test the main buttons. When the unit reacts but a particular button doesn't, try the following Tadiran code.

Auto-search backup: hold SELECT for 5 seconds with the remote pointed at the unit. It scans by itself. Hit any key right when the Tadiran responds. If some keys still don't work afterward, run the search again.

Set the time with CLOCK and TIME +/−, and switch units with C/F.

No. It's a Comfort Direct replacement that you set up with a Tadiran code. It covers the everyday functions most owners use.

My original remote only showed Celsius. Can this one show Fahrenheit?

Use the auto-search by holding SELECT for 5 seconds. If it still can't control your unit, you can return it within 90 days.
