About the Frigidaire Air Conditioner Remote

Frigidaire air conditioners are everywhere in the US, from bedroom window units to portables on casters and some wall-mounted ductless models. The little remote tends to vanish into couch cushions. This replacement is set up for Frigidaire, starting with the codes the instructions give for the brand.

With a working code, you get back:

Power, plus Cool, Dry, Fan and Auto (and Heat on Frigidaire units that heat)
Set temperature and fan speed
Swing, if your unit has moving louvers
Sleep and on/off timers

A backlit LCD shows the clock and room temperature, and the C/F key changes units. The remote is infrared with a range of about 25 feet, so aim it at the receiver on the front of the unit. A wall bracket is included, and it takes two AAA batteries (not included).

There are eight codes to start with. If your unit doesn't answer to any of them, the automatic search keeps going until it does. It ships the same day if you order by 4 PM Central, with a 1-year warranty and 90-day returns.

Setup & Pairing

Batteries in, code entered, done. Here's the detail:

Remove the back cover and add two AAA batteries.
Slide down the flap at the bottom of the face; SELECT is underneath. The digits for code entry are printed in the bottom-left corner of each key.
Press SELECT and enter 0216. Aim at the front of your Frigidaire and press power.
If it doesn't respond, try the next code. Order: 0216, 0217, 0218, 0219, 0220, 0569, 1245, 1752.
When the AC answers, step through mode, temperature and fan. A button that does nothing while the unit otherwise responds is a cue to try the next code.

Still no luck after all eight? Hold SELECT for 5 seconds to start auto-search. Keep the remote pointed at the AC and press any key as soon as it beeps or turns on or off.

Last, set the clock with CLOCK and TIME +/−, and switch to °F with the C/F key.
