Setup & Pairing

You program it one time with a Carrier code. After that it simply works when you pick it up.

1. Slide off the back cover and load two AAA batteries, matching the polarity marks.
2. Pull the panel on the lower front of the remote downward. Behind it is the SELECT key, and each key has a small digit printed in its bottom-left corner.
3. Press SELECT so the code area on the screen flashes, then type the first Carrier code using those corner digits. The Carrier codes, in order, are: 0203, 0204, 0205, 0206, 0207, 0208, 0209, 0456, 0457, 0458, 0482, 0483, 0484, 0485, 0486, 0563, 0564, 0565.
4. Aim at the indoor unit and press power. No reaction? Press SELECT again and enter the next code.
5. Once the unit responds, try mode, temperature, fan and swing. If it responds but a button does nothing, try the next Carrier code for fuller control.
6. None of the codes working? Point the remote at the unit, hold SELECT for 5 seconds and let go. It starts sending codes one after another. The moment the unit beeps or switches on or off, press any key to keep that code. This can take a while.

Finish up: press CLOCK, set the time with TIME +/- and press CLOCK again. Prefer Fahrenheit? Press the C/F key. Write down the code that worked so you have it after a battery change.
