About the Haier Mini-Split Remote

Your Haier ductless heat pump can cool in summer and heat in winter, but only if you can tell it to. Without its remote, you are left pressing the emergency button on the indoor unit and hoping. This replacement gives you the full set of everyday controls again.

It is programmed for Haier with a short list of eleven Haier codes. Enter one, test it, and keep the one that runs your unit best. There is also an automatic search as a backup if none of the Haier codes respond.

Heating and cooling: Heat, Cool, Dry, Fan and Auto modes
Air where you want it: fan speed and swing
Set and forget: on/off timers and sleep
Readable: backlit LCD with clock, room temperature and a °F/°C key

It works by infrared within about 25 feet, so keep the path to the indoor unit clear. A wall bracket is included, batteries are two AAA (not included), and you are covered by a 1-year warranty. Order by 4 PM Central and it ships today.

Setup & Pairing

Before you start, stand where the remote can see the front of the Haier indoor unit.

Batteries first: two AAA, slid in under the back cover.
Open the hidden key panel by sliding it down on the front. Note the little digit in the bottom-left corner of every key; that is what it enters during setup.
Press SELECT until the code area flashes.
Type the first Haier code. If the unit ignores power, press SELECT and try the next. Haier codes, in order: 0266, 0267, 0268, 0269, 0270, 0271, 0272, 0453, 0454, 0455, 0778.
When the unit responds, test heat, cool, fan speed and swing. If it responds but a button does nothing, keep going to the next Haier code.
If the list runs out, aim at the unit and hold SELECT for 5 seconds, then let go. Codes are sent one by one; press any key as soon as the unit beeps or changes to save it.

Good to know: set the clock with CLOCK and TIME +/- so the timers work as expected, and use the C/F key to choose the display units.

Will it run heat mode on my Haier heat pump?

Yes. Heat is one of the five modes. Once a Haier code is working, press the mode key to switch to it.

How many Haier codes are there to try?

Eleven, from 0266 to 0778. Try them in the order listed. If none respond, use the automatic search.

Why won't the timer work from across the room?

The remote sends the timer command itself, so it needs to stay put with a clear line of sight to the indoor unit.

Do you include batteries?

No. It takes two AAA batteries. A wall-mount bracket is included.
