About the Harbor Breeze LP8293LAZ Remote

A broken or missing remote leaves your Harbor Breeze LP8293LAZ fan half useful. This Comfort Direct replacement brings back six speeds, Natural Breeze, reverse, the light dimmer and the 2, 4 or 8-hour timer. It talks to the RECDC8293 receiver built into the fan.

It is made for the Harbor Breeze LP8293LAZ ceiling fan. Check the model number on your fan or in its manual: if it reads LP8293LAZ, this is the one you need. It pairs with the RECDC8293 receiver built into the fan. Pairing is quick: switch the power off and back on, press the Learn button, and the light blinks 3 times to show it is ready.

6 speeds + Natural Breeze: pick a speed from 1 to 6, or let the fan vary its speed like an outdoor breeze.
Reverse: switch the airflow for summer or winter right from your chair.
Sleep timer and Walk Away: shut the fan off after 2, 4 or 8 hours, or one minute after you leave the room.
Learn-button pairing: cycle the power, press Learn, and you are set. Includes a wall-mount cradle.

Before you order

This remote is not universal. It is made for the LP8293LAZ fan only, so check the model number on your fan or in its manual.
No receiver is included. Your fan's RECDC8293 receiver must still be working.
Do not run the fan from a rheostat or full-range dimmer wall control. It can damage the fan or the remote.

Setup & Pairing

Put a 12V A23 battery (sold separately) in the remote, matching the + and - marks.
Turn the fan's power off at the wall switch or breaker, then turn it back on. The receiver plays two tones.
Within 30 seconds, press the Learn button on the back of the remote.
The light blinks 3 times and stays on, and the fan starts on high. That means it is paired.
No luck? Repeat the power off/on step and press the Learn button a little sooner.
