About the LG Mini-Split Remote

LG ductless systems are everywhere in US homes, from single-room wall units to multi-room installs. Each indoor unit is run by a handheld infrared remote, and when that remote is gone, so is easy control. If your original remote was an AKB-series remote, such as the AKB74955602, this replacement can fill the gap.

The LG list is short: seven codes. Enter one, try it, move to the next if needed. Most owners are done in a few minutes, and an automatic search covers you if the list comes up empty.

Setup & Pairing

Set it up for LG once, and you're done.

1. Put in two AAA batteries.
2. Slide down the flip panel on the front lower half. The SELECT key and the small corner digits on each key are what you'll use.
3. LG codes, in the order to try them: 0197, 0198, 0199, 0200, 0514, 1026, 1733.
4. Press SELECT. While the code area is flashing, enter the first LG code with the corner digits.
5. Point at the LG indoor unit and press power. If it doesn't respond, return to SELECT and enter the next code. If it responds but a button does nothing, also try the next LG code.
6. No match on the list? Hold SELECT for 5 seconds while aiming at the unit, then release. Press any key as soon as the unit responds to store that code.

Then: CLOCK, TIME +/-, CLOCK sets the time. The C/F key picks Fahrenheit or Celsius.
