About the Sharp Mini-Split Remote

Sharp has sold ductless mini-splits in the US alongside its window and portable units, and those wall-mounted systems are run with a handheld infrared remote. Without one, changing the mode or the fan speed becomes a chore. This replacement remote is set up for Sharp and handles the essentials.

The Sharp list has fourteen codes. Put in the first, see whether the unit answers, and work down the list until you have full control. If nothing on the list works, run the automatic search.

Setup & Pairing

To set it up for your Sharp mini-split:

1. Fit two AAA batteries under the rear cover.
2. Push the small front door down to show the setup keys. SELECT is there, and each key types the number printed in its bottom-left corner.
3. Press SELECT and wait for the code area to blink.
4. Enter the Sharp codes in turn: 0096, 0097, 0098, 0099, 0100, 0101, 0102, 0103, 0104, 0105, 0106, 0525, 0609, 1640.
5. Test each by aiming at the indoor unit and pressing power. Once it responds, try mode, fan and swing. If it responds but a button does nothing, enter the next Sharp code.
6. If the list doesn't produce a match, aim at the unit and hold SELECT for 5 seconds, then let go. Press any key the moment the unit beeps or changes, which saves that code.

Wrap up: press CLOCK, set the time with TIME +/- and press CLOCK again. Use C/F to choose your temperature units.
