About the Hyundai Air Conditioner Remote

If your air conditioner carries the Hyundai name, finding a matching remote locally can be tricky. This replacement is set up for Hyundai AC units. Enter a Hyundai code once and it's ready to handle the everyday adjustments: on and off, mode, temperature, fan and timer.

The Hyundai list is short, five codes starting with 0202, so you'll know quickly whether one fits. If none does, the automatic code search can find another match for your unit.

Setup & Pairing

Five Hyundai codes, one setup.

Put two AAA batteries in.
Lower the hidden-key panel on the front of the remote. SELECT is in there. The digits for the code are printed in small type in the bottom-left corner of the keys.
Press SELECT so the code area flashes. Enter 0202.
Point at the AC. If it ignores you, press SELECT and enter the next Hyundai code: 0202, 0433, 0480, 1226, 1969, in that order.
Got a response? Check the other buttons. If the unit responds but a button does nothing, try the next Hyundai code.
If all five fail, run the automatic search. Aim at the unit, hold SELECT for 5 seconds, and press any key as soon as the AC reacts. It may take a while.

Last, set the time (CLOCK, TIME +/-, CLOCK) and press C/F to switch to Fahrenheit.

Will this control my Hyundai AC?

It's set up for Hyundai with the Hyundai codes. Most units that use an infrared remote get full control, but we can't promise every model; if a key doesn't respond, try the next code or the automatic search.

Which Hyundai code is first?

0202. After that come 0433, 0480, 1226 and 1969.

What does the sleep button do?

In Cool mode it raises the set temperature a little over the first couple of hours and turns the AC off after 8 hours; in Heat mode it lowers it instead.

What if it doesn't work for my unit?

You can return it within 90 days.
